    Slaying the laziness dragon, one workout at a time

    I don't need convincing about how good exercise is for you and how great it is to get and stay in shape. I know quite a lot about working out and I already know which types of exercise I like and which I don't. But if I didn't, there are plenty of people on Fitocracy who would be happy to teach me, encourage me and motivate me to start my fitness journey. I was already on the path when I encountered this great place and for a gamer and exercise enthusiast like me it was a double win! I get more incentive to go to the gym and do my workouts because I'm *this* close to a level up on Fitocracy. Or maybe I'm in a challenge started by one of the groups I belong to and I really want to get on top or as close as possible. Or perhaps I want to try a new exercise in order to complete a quest or unlock an achievement. Maybe another Fitocracy user has challenged me to a duel to see who can do the most push-ups or the heaviest deadlift.
    Fitocracy keeps my feet on the path to get fit. To get stronger and better. It challenges and rewards me and tempts me to try out new things. And the community around it is nothing short of wonderful - always encouraging, giving advice, cheering me on even through my bad days, having engaging discussions and debates on the forums. They're enthusiastic and welcoming about newcomers, something that is quite rare in gaming communities.

    Today has been a good day. I leveled up, unlocked a new achievement and reached a new personal record for the bench press. Now time to kick back, eat some protein and enjoy some Diablo 3.
