    Fitocracy is the Ultimate Motivation

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     tapeekcm1 says he decided to change his dieting and eating habits when his friend became ill and was hospitalized because of weight and internal health issues. He joined Fitocracy after having weight fluctuation with dieting and exercising. He says he joined Fitocracy because of the dynamics of the site and the app. 'I have played video games my whole life. I used to spend hours online with friends playing games, trying to "level up" my characters and complete quests. That's what made it so intriguing when one of my online buddies told me about Fitocracy,' he says. He says this technology has greatly impacted his lifestyle. 'When I first started Fitocracy I would record my data just so I could enter it in for points, but after time I started using this data to track progress on Fitocracy and strive for new goals,' he says.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

2009. I weighed 267 pounds, smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day, and ate anything and everything. A friend of mine who lived a similar lifestyle was in a coma and nearly died.

This was the first motivation to get healthy. Fast forward to 2011. I weighed 187 pounds and hadn't smoked a cigarette in almost 2 years. I figured, "Hey, I'm at my goal weight, I can relax a bit". In a little over 6 months I had bloated up to 217 pounds.

That is when I found Fitocracy. I never really got into lifting weights. After browsing the community, I saw there were a lot of impressive people contributing to the site. I started reading their blogs, watching videos on Olympic and power lifting form, and seeing all the points they were getting. This was my ultimate motivation.

Today I weigh in around 200 pounds. I have more muscle on my body then I've ever had, and most of all, I actually ENJOY working out. The thrill of getting a high point workout, completing a quest, or "leveling up" was all motivation I needed.

I love Fitocracy and will be a member for life.
