    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RVCFOTO was surprised to see so many people on the overpass next to Grand Central Station last night waiting to snap a photo of Manhattanhenge. 'Taxi cabs and cars were all slowing down trying to figure out what these crazy New Yorkers were doing looking West on 42nd st towards NJ,' she said.

    Tonight at 8:17 the sun set into dead center position relative to the grid in Mahattan. The best viewing were cross street at 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd and 57th st which has a clear view from East to West.

    Tuesday's setting sun was a wash out due to thunderstorms but tonight a large crowd came out to take photos at Pershing Square in Grand Central 42nd street. This was not the best sunset to get the total effect due to clouds over NJ. but there was still some rays reflecting on the buildings lining 42nd st. Maybe the next one in July will have better weather for viewing.
