My Syrian friend is currently a refugee and too afraid to tell his story; he told me his cousin was shot in the head by the army. Serving in the army at the time they told him to kill people, something he was not prepared to do. He was 19 years old.
My Syrian friend said everyone fears the government. They are too scared to speak against them; if they do their families will be killed.
From what he described it sounds like Nazi Germany.
He also said that there is no power and water and that is costs US$8 to buy one candle. He said everyone has lost there jobs and it is hard to find food.
