    On a trip to Krakow, Poland, one of the most splendid places was the old fortress here atop a hill. Overlooking the Vistula river at sunset, it was especially nice to sip a cold drink under the warm sun of the friendly skies of Poland.  This is a place very significant to the Poles as many famous and beloved of their countrymen are buried here.  The Romanesque architectural buildings including the royal residence and the cathedral look back upon the time of the middle ages and along the storied history of the Polish peoples.
