    Mormons March in PRIDE Parade

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Photographer katrina129 brought her five children to yesterday’s pride parade in Salt Lake City, Utah, where hundreds of Mormons marched to support the LGBT community. 'The crowd cheered and cheered. There were people crying and saying, 'Thank you.' It was really emotional,' she said. 'Mormons and gays, there’s been a lot of animosity between the groups, but there are a lot of members who disagree with the church because we have family members and friends who are gay. Just because you’re Mormon doesn’t mean you hate gays or don’t believe in marriage equality.' katrina129 edited these photos in Photoshop with a color filter.

More than 300 Mormons donned their Sunday clothes, skipped church, and marched in support of LGBT rights in the Salt Lake City PRIDE parade. The group organized just a few weeks ago called "Mormons Building Bridges" led the parade right behind Grand Marshall Dustin Lance Black. Black, who was raised Mormon, is best known for winning the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for the film "Milk".
