Had set up the long lens on my DSLR with all the settings to be able to have a clear view of the transit. Was planning on taking part of the worldwide collection of data via a VenusTransit smartphone app with GPS location data to mark the time of ingress and egress of the transit. Of course just as the ingress was happening some clouds strolled into the viewfinder. Fortunately, the clouds opened a bit and this shot was snapped almost exactly when the interior ingress was complete. Shot from Brentwood, TN with a Nikon DSLR and Sigma 70-300mm lens with a variable neutral density filter closed almost all the way.
