    Shuttle Enterprise Final Voyage

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     mcintron, a self-proclaimed "space geek" from New York City, photographed the Shuttle Enterprise during its celebrated journey to the Intrepid Air, Space and Sea Museum. "It is most definitely a significant event as there is so much history and achievement, as well as tragedy, attached to the Space Shuttle Program."
    - stein0726, CNN iReport producer

On Wednesday, June 6, 2012 the weather finally cleared up enough to allow the Shuttle Enterprise to make it's voyage up the Hudson river to the Intrepid Air, Space and Sea Museum.

It was a beautiful, sunny morning as the Enterprise came into view accompanied by dozens of vessels, including the NY FDNY sprouting water in celebration of the event. As the Enterprise slowly made it's way up the river on a barge, spectators watched from the New Jersey and Manhattan waterfronts. The retired NASA Shuttle will be on permanent display at the Intrepid Air, Space and Sea Museum.
