Coming This Summer: Tax Cut Showdown
And you thought last year's blockbuster was 1 of a kind. The debt ceiling fight turns out was not the center ring attraction we all thought it was.
Your dog-eat-dog executive producers speaking from their ivory and alabaster halls in Washington D.C. have announced that this summer you will be able to view in all its glory the spectacle of politicians gone wild!
There's a cauldron brewing and about to spew out all over the land. Expect to see a showdown that is made to rival the gunfight at the OK Corral.
See President Barack Obama go toe-to-toe, not with Mitt Romney, but Speaker of the House John Boehner. Sit on the edge of your seat, biting your nails as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid stare into each others' souless eyes.
The issue, the damsel in distress - the Bush now Obama tax cuts due to expire at the end of the year.
The battle for granting full extension to all the cuts or excluding those cuts for people who make over $250,000 per year wil soon dominate the summer doldrums.
Who will blink first?
Who will back down?
Who will win and who will lose?
Something tells me that we, the people, are already the losers.
And this is just the warm-up. There's still countless other tax cuts due to expire at year's end including the payroll tax cuts. The powers-that-be have already dubbed the upcoming crisis over taxes, Taxmageddon.
From the Cornfield, if you can...escape now...don't walk, run for the border. It's about to get ugly.
And we aren't even talking the presidential election...then the real horror flick begins.
