A Meeting for peace, reconciliation and reintegration to peaceful life was held in 215th Maiwand Corps today, Sunday, June 4, 2012. A gathering was held at the meeting hall of 215th Maiwand Corps; the participants were a delegation of two members of the High Peace Council (HPC) , Haji Mohammad Anwar Khan Isaqzai and Deputy Chairperson Sayed Qayoom Agha, Helmand Provincial Council member Saifalmalook, Provincial Council member and HPC Chairperson, Helmand’s High Peace Council Secretariat Director Engineer Mohammad Daud Farhang , Maj. Gen. Chief of Staff Said Malook, Corps Deputy Brigade Gen. Ghulam Farooq “Parwani” and the delegation of Corps Command, Companies, Shoraab Garrisons, 215 Maiwand Corps Battalions and international partners. The meeting opened with a recitation from the holy Quran and the national anthem was played. Next, Maj. Gen., 215th Maiwand Corps Commander Said Malook welcomed and addressed the participants with multilateral discussion: “I always welcome the presence of the heads of local HPC and am prepared to discuss the peace process.” Also, Mohammad Anwar Khan Isaqzai, a member of the HPC, discussed the importance of peace: “Peace is not only a topic related to the HPC, but is a significant and urgent necessity for each Afghan child, so that we have a peaceful and dignified life under the flag of peace.” Finally, Deputy Chairperson Sayed Qayoom Agha addressed the gathering: “Peace is a sacred word and enables us to reach our goal; peace has a series of agendas that should be executed professionally, enabling us to recognize our strengths and weaknesses in reaching our goal.” The meeting was adjourned with prayer. -
