    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     konacraig took these photos when he stopped off in Georgia whilst on a Black Sea cruise in September 2010. "What was special about the country was in spite of all the issues the country was having with Russia, the people were warm and friendly and greeted us with open arms," he says.

    The country mired in problems with Russia for a number of years, Georgia has started to emerge from years of economic and political instability.

    We visited the Republic of Georgia after it made peace with its neighbor, Russia. What we found were a people happy to welcome tourists and anxious to show off their country, people and customs.

    The attached photos show the highlights that we experienced in Georgia.
