    My Visit to Trinidad

I recently visited Trinidad and Tobago where I took this photo of our new National Academy for the Performing Arts, NAPA. It looks like the aliens have landed. It is a must see whenever you visit the twin island state just seven miles east of Venezuela.

The majestic National Academy for the Performing Arts (North Campus), positioned in the heart of the nation's capital, Port of Spain, is the permanent home for the development of talent in the performing arts, with particular focus on our national instrument, the steel pan.

The architectural design is reminiscent of the national flower of Trinidad and Tobago, the Chaconia. At its highest point, the grand, modern building will rise up to 100 feet enhancing the state-of-the-art acoustics and offering an inspirational setting for the enjoyment and training of the performance arts.

The Port of Spain National Academy for the Performing Arts will play a pivotal role in the Government of Trinidad and Tobago's multifaceted national plan for development. A performance and teaching academy, the Port of Spain National Academy for the Performing Arts features a vast array of open vistas for the enjoyment of the performance arts as well as contemporary classrooms, teaching halls and other practice spaces for the cultivation of the performance artistes of tomorrow.
