This iReport is part of an assignment:
Economy: Are you better off? |
Sad, But True
- Jareen, CNN iReport producer
These photos which I took in and around Europe depict the plight of the homeless which is also a major problem in our own country. Just look around and you'll see. The people in the photos are anonymous and the ways in which they are viewed on a daily basis confirm that fact. I post these photos of people whom some call transients, beggars, gypsies or otherwise the outcasts of society to remind us of what we could do better when we are complaining about our economy. I don't claim to have a solution for the problem which is everywhere a daunting one, neither do I suppose to know the means by which the people here, who essentially live out on the street, came to be in their plight, but I do believe that we can hope and expel energy toward a world that aspires to more humanity instead of giving in to useless rants, political sparring and worthless expressions of discontent over money, the unabashed root of all evil.
