    Fire in Larimer County approaching Fort Collins

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Joel says from his third floor apartment he has a direct view of the Colorado mountains and the bellowing smoke pouring out of a fire from Larimer County. 'The smoke is streaking the sky, it is a dark, hazy purple smoke,' he says. He says as of right now he is not able to smell smoke, but he expects that if they fire intensifies it will start to pour into the city. 'It is more prominent now, and it seems like more smoke is coming and the smoke is getting bigger,' he says.

    This shot was taken next to the Colorado State University campus as the Taste of Fort Collins is undrrway. 200 acres so far.
