High Park Fire Visible for Miles

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     thrushj ssays he captured this image in Eaton, Colorado, which is 40 miles away from the fire. He says from what he knows so far the fire is not yet contained and many people have been evacuated. He says large billowing cloud like masses are hanging over Fort Collins. 'It was an eerie scene. I was inspired to shoot the pictures and file this report because the sunset was a blazing ball of red, almost apocalyptic like, through the smoke and I had been watching the progress of the fire all day yesterday,' he says. (Note: he adjusted the contrast somewhat on these images.)
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

The High Park Fire near Fort Collins Colorado is worrying firefighters in Larimer County, Colo. saying it could turn into a nightmare scenario similar to the Hayman Fire of ten years ago. The Billowing Smoke can be seen for miles as the pictures I took this afternoon and evening show from Eaton, Colo. 40 miles away. Conditions are extremely hazardous for a fire of this size and several structures have been burned.
