Local Hero Bradley Shocks Pacquiao In WBO Welterweight Title Fight

In one of the most shocking upsets in boxing and sports history, Timothy Bradley, our local Palm Springs / Indio / Inland Empire home town fighting hero, AKA "Desert Storm", has defeated the 8 time world champion, Manny Pacquiao, to become the new WBO Welterweight Champion of the World!

Pacquiao (54-4-2), who had shown signs of 'age' in his last two bouts, lost in a split decision to the still undefeated Bradley (29-0), who I covered here at the Aqua Caliente Casino two years ago, when I also met the legendary fight promoter Don King.

This is a shocking decision, with many experts in the industry again calling the sport 'corrupt', as most of the media in attendance at the fight had Pacquiao clearly winning the battle.

Roberta and I had just watched the HBO Pac Man special today, where Manny announced that he had found religion, and HBO also did an excellent piece on the training regimen for Bradley here in Southern California as well.

So congrats to Timothy Bradley tonight...The folks here in Indio / Palm Springs are celebrating, the parties will go on all night...Will Pacquiao still fight Maywheather now???
