    Velothon - Bike Race in Berlin

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     markpel Markku Rainer Peltonen says one of the purposes of the Velothon race, which was held on June 10, in Berlin, Germany, is to give everyone that chance to take part of the bike race. He says the race is not only for elite riders, but it is also for people who are interested in cycling. He says thousands of people geared up to partake in the event. 'The highlight for me as a spectator was hearing several music groups along the route, and for the bikers, especially for the foreigners, it is possible to see some of the most important landmarks of Berlin,' he says.

    Velothon - Bike Race in Berlin

     

    Velothon is cycling for everyone, for amateurs and professionals; 13.000 participants.

     

    There are two different distances: 60 km and 160 km.
