Violence of Rohingya
The Rohingya (ရုိဟင္ဂ်ာ) are predominantly Muslims of Arakan State, western Burma. The Rohingya population is mostly concentrated in the northern cities of Arakan State such as Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Akyab, Rathedaung and Kyauktaw.
British census of 1891 reported 58,255 Muslims in Arakan. By 1911, the Muslim population had increased to 1,078,647. Their population become greater and greater from time to time. In Arakan (Rakhine) State Rohingyar population is much more greater than local ethnic people.
On the other hand, because of the rocket population growth and the huge amount of illegal migration of the Bangali Muslim,there are much more population different between the local people and Bengali Muslim.They had destroyed and fired nearly a hundred Arakan villages and killed thousands of Arakaneses during the conflict in 1942. In 1947, these Chittagonian Bengalis demanded the partition of Arakan into two states. How would the native Arakanese feel if their ancestral land is divided to give away a part to the immigrants? Started from 1951 and 1952, they tried to build a Muslim State by trying to occupy Maungdaw and Buthidaung.The name "Rohingya" came into existence last 50 years ago and became well-known 2000 years .
Both Rohingya and all ethnic people form Arakan (Rakhine) State have been living together in unity and emity. But in 2012 Rohingya roit start broke out in Maungdaw on June 8. From that day series of riots, arson and murder perpetrated by groups of Rohingya in northern Rakhine State, Myanmar. Although the riots came after weeks of sectarian disputes between ethnic Rakhine and Burmese Muslims, most Burmese Muslims have condemned the riots
The immediate cause of the riots is unclear. The commonly cited reason is the killing of ten Burmese Muslims by ethnic Rakhine in response to 3 Rohingya who raped and murdered of a Rakhine woman. But one strange thing is that this news was not commonly broadcasted by any foreign Medias. They usually say Rohingya people have been continually suffering from all kinds of human rights violations. In fact, Myanmar government and any ethnic people never mistreat on them. They are not only ethnic group under brutal oppression of the junta. We are wondering why the world’s famous media are more concerned with Rohingya than other ethnic minorities. In the situation like that, wisely cooperation of media is necessary to for peace and stability and rule of law.
As of June 09, over three hundred houses and a number of public buildings monasteries and Buddha Images have been razed with casualty figures ranging from 7 to 30. Rohingya are still torching the Arakanese villages and the villagers have been leaving their houses. There are 12074 women and children casualties on 11 June. The government responded by imposing curfews and by deploying troops in the regions. Due to instability in some township in Rakhine state, Section-144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure was issued on 8 June 2012 for the sake of security of people and ensuring peace and stability.
We all need to realize how seriously this event would damage stability, democratization process and national development of our country in transition period. Rohingyas are certainly uncontrollable gypsies of Asia, and they have been roaming around with no sense of civic responsibilities for countries they live in. They don’t follow the rules of the country and make terrorize. We are too nice to them. We know human right and all are human. But they become very despicable and rouge. International media display as we are enemies of Rohingya and killing them. “It's a tinderbox. These people feel like they're trapped in a box, surrounded by enemies and there is an extremely high level of frustration”,told by Rohingya. Actually we, Arakan people, are suffering. We want the world to know about the truth event that Rohingya are insulting Arakanese and Arakanese are suffering the worst situation.
