Kings Stanley Cup Runneth Over Tonight!
After 45 years of trying, our Los Angeles Kings finally won the Stanley Cup! The Kings lost just two games to reach the finals and stormed to a 3-0 Stanley Cup Finals series lead against New Jersey.
But the Devils won two games to raise doubts before the Kings finally claimed the trophy in a Game 6 rout at our Staples Center. A 6-1 victory sealed a 4-2 series win and Dustin Brown hoisted the Stanley Cup.
The Kings have been trying to win the Stanley Cup since 1967.
45 years was a long time for our fans to wait. I have never seen the City of Angels this hockey crazy!
The Kings are the only 8th seed ever to win the Stanley Cup. See you at the parade on Thursday!
