    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     After a long drive up winding roads, islandhoppr8 said walking up to this scene at the top of New Zealand's South Island as "not only a relief, but also a blessing. I had waited a long time to be on the Queen Charlotte track. It was a dream come true." Her image was selected as Travel Photo of the Day for September 4, 2012.

    Scrunched between two toddler car seats in the back of a Ford I don't know what. Up and down winding mountain roads, several stops to toss my breakfast, and four hours
    later, we finally have landed; Marlborough Sounds.

     

    Marlborough Sounds is located on the Northeast tip of the South Island of New Zealand. There are four Sounds that link together to make the Marlborough Sounds each offering a different experience; the Queen Charlotte, Pelorus, Kenepuru and Mahau.
