This iReport is part of an assignment:
From garden to table |
Come visit my new garden!
- stein0726, CNN iReport producer
Take a look at the cherry tomatoes in my garden. As you can see my space for planting is very limited but we do just fine provided there is fertile soil, ample sunshine, plenty of rain, and very few critters.
This is my first container garden and these tomatoes are the first harvest of the season! I have already planted orka, (micro greens) spicy mixed lettuce, rainbow quinoa, and mustard greens as well.
Early on, our garden encountered some unexpected wormy green visitors whom consumed an entire pot of quinoa! I don't like to use any pesticides so I should have seen that one coming. Oh well...
I am excited about this new way of gardening. I will plant some more seeds today and then get ramped up to speed on how to keep the wormy green predators at bay in an environmentally save way. Wish me luck!
