Should the rich pay more taxes?

Why Do People Want $250k+ Earners Taxed More?

I don't get this motivation, by regular citizens, of wanting to over-tax people who make more than 250k a year. Do you realize what you are screaming for? You are asking that your government, who can't budget $100 at a gas station, to take as much money as they can from your fellow neighbors, community members, citizens, etc. You'd rather see the federal government with that money, than the people in your community who make that money? People who shop at your store, eat at your restaurants, tip, etc?

I don't understand this. I understand politicians screaming it. It's class warfare. Anger the lower and middle class by preaching the upper-class makes too much and should distribute wealth, etc. They think you're stupid.

I can't see an actual person hoping the government has more of their neighbor's money, though. Think about it. Since the start of mankind (well, let's say the US, to keep it in perspective), individual income taxes have done NOTHING but go up. Continuously going up. If you believe in distribution of wealth and you should be handed money someone else has earned, etc; why have taxes done nothing but go up and you still haven't been handed money?

Do you really, really think that IF the higher-income-individuals of this nation really were taxed at 50%, that the government is going to give anything to you? Do you really, after everything you've seen and lived through, think the government will make sure that money gets back to you some how? You really think they'd learn how to budget it? Ha! I'd rather see my lawyer neighbor have the money he has earned, instead of the government.

They can't budget. They use public funds for fraudulent, personal gain. They have taxes to fund ear-marks, and only support those that will vote for them. Not individual voters that help them, influential voters (companies, unions, etc) And you think that would be different if they raised taxes? We'd all of a sudden have a surplus, the government would all of a sudden know how to budget money, and you will actually see some of that money? Everything would be done ethically and morally if the ogvernment's account balance went up? Why would you want a wasteful, non-caring organization - like our government - with extra money instead of your fellow community members?

I understand buying into hype. we all have at one point. But when you scream "Yeah! People making over XYZ should pay more money! They shouldn't have that money!", think about what you are screaming for. How many years has the government and "the next guy" promised to do for the middle and lower classes, and nothing changes? And you want them to have MORE money (even though their budget, due to inflation, is constantly rising)? Stop hating, work hard, and do for yourself. Set and accomplish your own career/financial goals. To wish the government had more of your fellow citizen's money is beyond me.
