GOLDEN, Colorado - A tractor trailer truck carrying hazardous material overturned west of Golden prompting officials to shut down all eastbound lanes of the heavily traveled Interstate 70 west of Denver for over three hours. Eastbound traffic into Golden was backed up for several miles while area fire departments from Foothills, Genesee, Evergreen, and Golden responded along with the Colorado State Patrol's Hazardous Response Team to determine how to remove the seven containers of methanol.

The driver of the semi-truck lost control of the semi-truck and overturned in the runaway truck ramp.  The driver was not injured and the Colorado State Patrol was investigating the incident.  Interstate 70 was re-opened at 7 pm.
