This iReport is part of an assignment:
City smackdown: Philadelphia |
Philly Phoodie
Although I haven’t lived in Philadelphia for 6 years, I still call it my home. When I meet new people I always make it a point to say, “I’m from Philly but I live near DC now.” This immediately sets the tone that I eat tomato pie (not pizza), I enjoy Tastykakes above all else, and I know the true difference between a steak sub and a cheesesteak.
The city of brotherly love offers the best cuisine. I could spend an entire day simply eating Philly food from my favorite spots. I would start the day with breakfast at Reading Terminal Market- I’d order a coffee from Old City Coffee and a crepe from Profi’s. Then I would travel over to the Italian Market and get a delicious Sarcone’s Deli hoagie (I recommend Sonny’s Special mmm). And finally I’d head up to Dalessandro’s in Roxborough and order one “wiz, without.”
Oh wait, did I forget about the cannoli? How could I forget about the cannoli? I'd rush over to Termini Brother’s for a mouthwatering cannoli and sigh with utter content.
Ahh to dream...
