Corporations Are Fat, Dumb, and Lazy- But Many "Dathans" Bow to Their Golden Idol
- zdan, CNN iReport producer
After Citizens United, Americans are now getting the best government corporate money can buy. They worship at the alter of corporate money and thank God for the entities that allow them to have their lifestyles.
Holy Moses! Modern day Dathans! Remember the movie, "The Ten Commandments"? Edward G. Robinson played the role of Dathan.
Dathan was a chief Hebrew-overseer, and later Governor of Goshen as appointed by Pharaoh Rameses II.
When a slave, Dathan was a confidant of Baka the Pharaoh's master builder. After Baka's death, Dathan overhears Joshua, who firmly believes that Moses is the deliverer. When Rameses investigates Baka's death, Dathan is willing to tell him who is the deliverer, only if Rameses grants him his freedom, the water-girl Lilia, Baka's house, and all that he asks.
Rameses does pay his price, and Dathan inherits all of Baka's belongings.
His convincing, ambitious personality is what is thought that made him be hired as an overseer instead of being a slave.
Many, these days are Dathans- willing to do whatever their task masters tell them to do, for money. Betraying their own kind for a buck? It's not a new concept as the "Ten Commandments" shows us. Greed has been around forever.
Many in the GOP leadership sound like & reminds me of that devious and ambitious Hebrew overseer, Dathan (who kept trying to get the freed Hebrew slaves to go back into Egyptian slavery, because he was happy with his wealthy setup before that no good socialist, Moses, set the people free in the "Ten Commandments."
Make sense? Corporate America is now their new "golden idol".
With the GOP, so divided, it looks like Obama has parted the Red States to lead his agenda through.
Corporate America has become fat, dumb and lazy. They're able to buy the Dathans in the World. The easiest path is the one of least resistance. Take their money and shut your mouth. You'll be fine. As for your neighbor? Not so much.
Corporate America rules Congress. The worse thing about that is that Congress claims to work for us.
(Corporations don't like to do business with small businesses. They keep their money among their own.)
