This iReport is part of an assignment:
From garden to table |
Patio gardening...suburbia style
My suburban gardening has moved to our back deck with a pot growing cherry tomatoes and another one growing green zucchini.
So far, so good although I had a bit of a scare when after being gone for four days I came home to wilted leaves on the zucchini. A quick influx of water brought the leaves back to live.
As you can see from my photos taken this morning all is well with my little garden.
Notice the child guard gate at the step entrance. This is to prevent deer, not children, from eating my plants. I am just noticing a catbird by the plants. Sometime nuthatches come around also. I don't know what they do in the pots but they leave the plants alone.
Bon appetitt!
