Why I came home to Philly
I've lived in London, NYC, Denver, and the Midwest. Philly offers the perfect blend of sophistication and grit. There is a lot more work to do to bring the city back to the glory years of being the workshop of the world or the epicenter of a great experiment.
I've never been to Detroit, but it saddens me to see the blight and hear the story of a city that has lost more than a million residents since it's heyday of the mid-1950s. I wish the town well, but Philly has been a well-kept secret for a long time for which the word is spreading. This is a place in which you can make a life for yourself.
