    First cabbage of the season

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     What started off as a way to reduce her grocery budget after she got married, MavisGarden says she hasn't stopped gardening ever since. Adding that she decided to ramp up her efforts this year to grow more fresh vegetables and fruits. Here she shares a photo of her first cabbage of the season. "The first of anything you pick from the garden is pure bliss. Then, you suddenly realize holy crap, I have 12 more cabbages to pick. What on earth am I going to do with all of those freakin' cabbages? And that, is where the real fun begins," she says. "I want people know that anyone can plant a garden. It's not rocket science. You don’t have to have live on a large piece of land to have a one. Start small, grow what you like, and go from there."

    Behold the first cabbage of the season. Am I the only one out there who finds it amazing that you can plant a seed, give it a drink of water and the seed will turn into something edible?
