Thousands of Egyptians protested in Egypt's Tahrir square on Tuesday, June19, against the complementary constitutional declaration issued by the Supreme Council of Armed Forces known as "SCAF", the formation of a national defense council that is controlled by SCAF, dissolution of parliament and against allowing the military to arrest civilians for non-military crimes. Protests started at 5pm CLT (3pm GMT) as protesters marched from different area of Cairo. The main groups that joined the protests were the 6th of April Youth Movement, the Revolutionary Socialists and the Muslim Brotherhood along with many independent revolutionaries. The square was completely filled with protesters. Chants were against the military rule and SCAF's constitutional declaration. Some members of the dissolved parliament joined the protests. Many protesters described SCAF's actions as a soft military coup.
