    Duluth Flash Flood

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     charginghawk told me, 'I live a few blocks away and there has been no damage to my house, but a lot of flooding in the street.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

My daughter was up studying and called around three in the morning, at the height of the storm. She had found out about the car in the sink hole, and was scared for us since it was near our house, but we had no damage.
At that time, they had found one of the seals from the zoo on Grand Avenue, the main drag at her end of town, and the petting zoo animals had drowned and the polar bear was loose. The bear has been corralled and the families in low lying parts of town were evacuated. The rain has stopped for a while, and there are quite a few washed out streets.
Just down the hill from where the car hit the sinkhole, along the same creek, a break wall behind the Whole Foods Co-op collapsed. Earlier this year the city had been working on the storm drain there, and but apparently the flood simply blew it out.
