US Manufacturing Jobs dying, China is next
A quick look at the jobs that Apple sends to China shows that they are so horrific that they make suicide popular. The Chinese have a history of taking deadly jobs that Americans refuse to do. This was first noticed in the deadly work of building tunnels in California for the rail road.
To understand what is really going on we need to consider progress. Progress tells us that new manufacturing plants will be built with mostly work places for robots. And to take it to the next level robots are now repairing and maintaining robots in the USA.
As you look at the chart above note the black line. This line shows the recent growth in manufacturing in the USA.
As you look at the other line, note that it has not gone up. This is the number of man hours in manufacturing.
What does this mean for the USA and China? There will be more robotic factories built in the USA and in China. The millions of Chinese workers looking forward to working in a factory in the future will be disappointed. The exception to this being manufacturing that short term focused, where robotics would not be cost effective. This type of manufacturing is handled by versatile companies that are in the contract manufacturing business.
The end result is that China will no longer have a huge growth in manufacturing employment and in some sectors a decline in manufacturing man hours will be seen.
