Harvest Is Starting
After some fairly long periods of rain, this years crops are a little behind where I would normally expect them to be. The broad beans are nearly ready to harvest, probably another week and we should have the first of them.
Soft fruit is a different matter though, and the first gooseberries are ready to be picked and eaten.
Also nearly there are peas and early potatoes.
As we pass mid-summer, there's still lots to do, and fresh fruit and vegetables will be available in increasing amounts.
