As you probably heard, the Los Angeles Kings won the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Championship a couple weeks ago. One of the perks of winning the Stanley Cup is that is gets to spend a day or so with each member of the team. Several members of the LA Kings live in the beach communities, at least during hockey season. One of these players is LA Kings center, Jarret Stoll; who lives in Hermosa Beach during hockey season. Even though today is not his day to own the trophy, he did accompany it though Hermosa Beach on its way to spend the day in Manhattan Beach. I am preet sure Lord Stanley did not envision this.

There was a short parade from the fire department down Pier Avenue to the plaza where a rally was held. There was an estimated 5,000 fans there and they were all happy to see the Stanley Cup up close and personal. Since it was Stoll's birthday yesterday, a rousing rendition on "Happy Birthday" was sung by the crowd. He seemed to enjoy it.
