Hurricane season 2012 |
As Debby's fury subsides, esidents and visitors return to Venice, Florida beaches
On most days the jettys that mark the Venice inlet offer a safe, calm entry into the Gulf of Mexico, are a favored fishing spot and serve as a venue for others to view the Gulf water and beaches. High winds and big waves kept everyone off the jettys for several days as even the surfers that noramlly flock to the area for the waves created by a storm stayed away.
Lower water levels and fewer rain squialls gave people the chance to get out and see the raging waters on Tuesday, but the rough waters continued to keep surfers at bay.
