Celebrating 60 years of Indo-German ties at the Urban Mela!
The year 2012 is a special year for Indo-German relations. To highlight this, the travelling 'Urban Mela' , complete with state-of-the-art pavilions, exclusively designed by renowned German architect and installation artist Markus Heinsdorff, was an insight into opportunities that Germany has to offer to better cultural ties and opportunities in India.
Clowns, pop quizzes, breakdance competitions, cityscapes - every pavilion hosted various presentations by German companies, corporations and cultural representatives. Today is the second-last day of the mela in Bangalore, so I happened to drop by to see what it was all about! I must say, I especially loved the poetry slam at the Cultural Pavilion which had award-winning German poet Lars Ruppel.
The mela will soon travel to other Indian cities. Do drop by when it's in town!
