    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     VBH0001 first saw the patriotically decorated air traffic control tower, colored with red, white and blue lights, when his flight landed at an airport in Dayton, Ohio. 'It reminded me of how proud I am to be an American,' he says. When his girlfriend picked him up from the airport they stopped by the tower to capture a photograph. 'I can only imagine how our troops feel when they come home and see the crowds greeting them with flags and banners,' he says.
