    The Ambarella fruit Tree

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     sunethra of Kandy, Sri Lanka, shares these photos of her Ambarella tree. When the fruit ripens, sunethra says she either cooks them with chili or uses them to create her favorite homegrown dish, Ambarella chutney.
    - stein0726, CNN iReport producer

The Ambarella fruit Tree is in my garden bearing fruit. It is a delicious fruit that can be just eaten plain or cooked or made into a chutney. You can slice it put chilli powder and salt and just have it, or you can put chillie powder, curry leaves, and cook it and have with a little rice or make a tasty chutney to go with the rice and other curries.

This tree was here when I came to this home and has been bearing fruits throughout, it is also called the golden apple or Spondias dulcis and it is a tropical tree and grows up to 60Ft. my tree is a budded variety and is about 5 ft. tall.
