Lombard Trees Hit By Lightning
On Monday, July 2nd, 2012, sudden tornado winds with funnel clouds and sharp electrical lightning hit Lombard trees at the corners of Westmore-Meyers Road between Washington Boulevard and Madison Street. U.S. flags blew and waved away in the ravaging tornado winds, twisting and turning on their posts. Trees were damaged in the windstorms, losing limbs, branches and summer foliage pruned by lightning strikes which split several trees and uprooted others along Washington Blvd. between the Villages of Lombard and Villa Park in DuPage County, Illinois USA. Tree technicians and specialists were called to inspect all tree damages and losses in Lombard, also known as Tree City in Illinois.
