In and Out!!!! 6 Year Term for President!
I think it's time that we look at amending the President's "term limit", from 2 possible 4 year terms to a one 6 year term limit.
At present, if someone is elected for the first time, his/or her first two years are an attempt to get their policies past, the last two years to get re-elected. If re-elected they become some what of a "lame duck". The time frame works out to be the same....if elected for two terms, they are really only "good" for about 6 years.
But we wouldn't have to put up with the "crap" in the middle."
This would allow the President to do his/or her job without distraction of a re-election. And if he or she weren't doing her job there is always the recourse of re-call or impeachment.
Plus there is the extra bonus...CAMPAIGN COST! I believe that there is just to much time, energy and money spent on a re-election of a President, when those resources can be spent bettter elsewhere.
Senate & Congress and their limits will have to be addressed by your own state.
A P.S. I believe that if an elected official is removed from office either by re-call, impeachment or self-resignation due to the obuse of the (or the failure to uphold) the office to which they were elected, they should be denied any benefits associated with such office, (i.e.) pension, medical, etc. Most every day person who had a poor job performance and lost their job would not receive these benefits.
