    The Vietnam Memorial Wall

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DaElmersBack was part of the group that escorted The Moving Wall to Gladstone, Michigan. The wall is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial that tours the United States. He also shot video of the wall's procession and arrival.
    - katie, CNN iReport producer

As the moving Vietnam Wall from Texas arrived in Upper Michigan July 3rd, temps were over 90 degrees. Over 70 motorcycles with the Patriot Guard Riders were at the Island Resort & Casino to give escort, led by Escanaba & Gladstone Police Dept and followed by a few Fire trucks.

All along the way people were standing on the sides of the road waiting, holding American flags and holding their hands over their hearts. I noticed a few times men were standing at attention, saluting the trailer containing the wall as we went by. As we arrived in Gladstone, Michigan the street was lined with flags, many people waiting for the arrival of the wall.

The wall is 360 feet long and took a few hours to construct. I was unable to stay to see the finished product, but there was one moment that said it all-
As the was was just being put up, a man walked up to it and appeared to have found a name. He ran his finger along it, as if that brought back many memories. He stood back and stared at it for a long time.
