    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     calebjc says one of the things that stood out to him at the parade was an older man wearing a Vietnam Vet hat saluting all the military floats as he held an American flag. "At one moment in the video, a young soldier in the parade walked over to shake his hand," he says. "It was a very touching sign of respect and thanks."

    Me, my family, and some friends caught the early part of our town's classic American small town parade today. We watched from the end of our street as the parade headed for main street. Veterans old and new, babies, flags, fire trucks, the old folk homes, protestors, dedicated dads, boy scouts, diversity groups, the arts, local and regional politicians, banks, etc...
