    San Diego Fireworks Fail - Major Malfunction - July 4th 2012


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     tonyperri, a freelance journalist living in Coronado, California, documented a malfunction at the 12th annual Big Bay Boom firework show in San Diego. "At first I thought they were doing a test but then I saw two of the barrages start exploding," he says. "I had never seen anything like it. It was loud and the whole ground shook."     San Diego, CA - July 4, 2012
    Hundreds of fireworks went off at the same time on three barges in San Diego's Glorietta Bay creating an accidental yet spectacular display. No one was injured. The technical malfunction caused officials to cancel the fireworks show for the first time in the 12 year year history of the "Big Bay Boom" - the largest fireworks display in San Diego County.
