New York in the Seventies, Part II

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Capistrano99 of Woodbridge, Virginia, shares these black and white film images she took as a freelance photographer living in New York City between the years 1973 and 1977. "I do believe that every face tells a story. That's why I am attracted to portraiture. Central Park, with its variety of New Yorkers sitting on benches, was my favorite place to take photos in those days." Capistrano99 says she still uses the same camera to this very day. "Despite my best efforts, I remain wedded to my Nikkormat and to film. After working with this camera since the age of 22, I feel like we are a team."

This is a follow up to my iReport "New York in the Seventies," a series of black and white photos taken during my days of living in New York City from 1972-79. An inveterate people-watcher, my goal was to tell stories and capture emotions through my images.
