    Nimes France

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     JamesAmerson iReporter James Amerson from Pensacola, Florida, was won over by these stunning Roman ruins in Nimes, France. "Still intact and much better than the Roman Coliseum!" he told CNN. His first photo was featured as CNN's Travel Photo of the Day for September 13, 2012.

The city of Nimes France was constructed on a Roman road in 118 BC which connected Italy to Spain. Famous for 2 very special points of architecture, the Arena of Nimes which was built around 70 AD and the Maison Carree from the year 16 BC.
