    Goodnight Sunshine

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     As she and her husband were driving home, Ryn says she noticed the dark clouds over the great orange sunset. " I was taking photos through the car window until my husband pulled over to allow me to capture better images. The images just say hot, sultry, humid," she says. "The heat and humidity just smack you in the face. It is nauseating to be out for five minutes. I am so looking forward to fall!" Got any photos showing the hot, hot heat? Feel free to upload them to our heat assignment.

One hundred plus temperatures in Maryland gave way to a more tolerable seasonable day today. A respite from over a week of power outages, no air conditioning, no refrigerator and for some no water. Storm clouds rolled in late this afternoon with the promise a needed rain and possibly lightning (not needed) and thunder.
The heat was evident in the black storm clouds and the gorgeous sunset. Goodnight Sunshine, you deserve a break today.
