CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ChrisMorrow is covering Comic-Con in San Diego this year. This is her tenth year at the convention, and she has had the opportunity to connect with creative writers, producers, celebrities and people who influence pop culture. She covered this story after a young woman was killed at Comic-Con after being hit by a car. She says that despite the fun of the convention, it is important to stay safe.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

This morning a Comic-con fan camping for the Twilight panel was struck by a car when she was crossing the street in front of the San Diego Convention Center and died at the hospital.

The woman was in a crosswalk and had a red light when she tried to run across Harbor toward the convention center about 9:20 a.m., said police Sgt. Ron Glass.

I have a special connection with the campers. One of the fun things to cover at Comic-con is the camping and her group was the one who I spoke with yesterday. I tweeted a photo of the group and it was the last thing she tweeted. https://twitter.com/mad4hugh

I can tell you that she loved events like Comic-con because of the people in the line camping with her. They all travel around the world enjoying Twilight events.

After the accident I spoke with her new friends who quickly became close friends and I also spoke with the San Diego Mayor.

My condolences to her family and friends.
