    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Olexiy Zhivora took these photos of Kiev under snow during the bitterly cold months of January and February this year. “Kiev is one of the most beautiful cities in the Eastern Europe but in the winter there is some special feeling about it,” he says. “The city itself becomes a true white palace.”

    Needless to say, Kiev is one of the most beautiful cities in the Eastern Europe. But in the winter there is some special feeling about it. The city itself becomes a true white palace: great Pechersk hills are being covered in snow with all the glorious parks that stretched along the Dnieper river that also freezes up and becomes a great place for winter-fishing and skiing.
