At 1500 meters above sea level the valley of the Saints (Qannoubine valley) comprises caves and monasteries for the Maronites (group of Christians) of Lebanon. They used to hide in the caves of that valley from the Ottoman prosecution. They then built one of the oldest monasteries in the mountains of north Lebanon. There are churches where no electricity could reach.
