Eye on Ukraine |
Crimea, Ukraine - the famous town of Yalta
Yalta is a small town but is the most popular for tourism in the Crimea. The attractions and beautiful scenery is a must to see. You would soon realize why it is a top destination for Ukrainians and Russians. Most famous for the Yalta conference in 1945, Yalta will always be known in history for the week long meeting of the super power leaders, Roosevelt, Churchhill, and Stalin. For foreign tourists, I feel Yalta is the most tourist friendly city in the Crimea but still be prepared for little English speaking people. Nestled between the mountains and the beach, the scenery is breathtaking. Yalta and the surroundings have too many castles, churches, museums, palaces, and historical attractions to mention here. If you prefer relaxation, the boardwalk and beach is incredible with an abundance of shops, artists, restaurants, festivals, and even a church on the beach. A month stay in this small town would probably not be enough to enjoy everything it has to offer.
