    Free Carrots - Channel Your Inner Pilgrim

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     MavisGarden of Gig Harbor, Washington, is on a mission to harvest 2,000 pounds of fresh food this year right out of her suburban backyard. In order to achieve this goal, she's channeling her inner pilgrim. "I think it would be a hoot to go back in time and be a pilgrim. I mean, think about it, you'd get to wear the same outfit everyday, you'd save a ton of money on beauty products and meal time would be a snap because you wouldn't have to get in the car and drive to the store. You'd just use what you already had available in your pantry, or salt barrel, or whatever it was they used to store their food."

    I've grown more carrots than my family can eat. So I thought it would be fun to hit the streets, and pass a few out.   After all, who wouldn't love a free carrot?
